Proudest achievements

  • My proudest achievement is building a career at Nightingale House that has been driven by passion, dedication, and purpose. From joining as a temporary member of staff to leading the lottery, I have continually embraced opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute. The income generated through the campaigns, events, partnerships, and lottery initiatives I have been involved with has helped provide essential care and support for countless patients and families. Being able to look back on 14 years of service and know I have made a meaningful difference is, without doubt, my greatest achievement.

As Lottery Manager at Nightingale House Hospice, I am proud to play a key role in generating vital income that helps support the charity's incredible work. I love being able to develop campaigns, engage supporters, and find new ways to grow the lottery while making a real difference to people's lives. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that every new player contributes to helping Nightingale continue providing care and support to those who need it most.

About Amanda's team

One of the things I value most about working at Nightingale House Hospice is the incredible people I have had the privilege of working alongside. Over the past 14 years, I have been part of teams that are passionate, dedicated, and genuinely committed to making a difference. The support, encouragement, and friendships I have built with colleagues across the organisation have played a huge part in my journey. Every day, I am inspired by the kindness, hard work, and unwavering commitment of the people around me, and I am proud to be part of such a special team.

The journey

My journey with Nightingale House Hospice began in January 2013 when I joined the fundraising team as a Temporary Fundraising Assistant. What started as a temporary role quickly became a career that I am incredibly proud of. Over the past 14 years, I have had the opportunity to develop my skills and experience across a wide range of fundraising disciplines, including events, community fundraising, corporate partnerships, challenge events, and lottery management. Each role has brought new opportunities, challenges, and achievements, helping me grow both professionally and personally. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to supporting the hospice's mission, building strong relationships with supporters and colleagues, and continually finding new ways to generate vital income. My progression within the organisation reflects not only my passion for fundraising but also my dedication to the incredible work of Nightingale House and the people it serves.

Why your vote matters

Being nominated is an incredibly humbling and emotional experience. To be recognised by the people I have worked alongside and supported throughout my journey at Nightingale House means more to me than I can put into words. The nomination itself feels like a reflection of the relationships I have built, the hard work I have given, and the passion I have always had for the hospice and its mission. Every vote represents someone's belief in me, and that is something I will never take for granted. Whether I win or not, knowing that colleagues, friends, supporters, and members of the community have taken the time to vote is truly overwhelming. It makes me feel valued, appreciated, and proud of the contribution I have made over the last 14 years.
